By accessing or using RSM Studio ("we," "our," or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

RSM Studio is a collaborative authoring platform that allows researchers to create, edit, and collaborate on academic documents using RSM (Readable Science Markup). The Service is provided by Leo Torres, an individual based in Germany.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To create documents, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.2 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use this Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Content License and Rights

4.1 Your Content

By creating content in RSM Studio, you:

  • Retain full ownership and copyright of your work
  • Grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and process your content to provide the Service
  • Warrant that you have the right to create and share the content

4.2 License Grant

The license you grant us is limited to:

  • Storing your documents on our servers
  • Processing your documents to provide editing and collaboration features
  • Creating backup copies for technical purposes
  • Enabling real-time collaboration with users you invite
  • Providing export functionality

We will NEVER claim ownership of your content or use it for any purpose other than providing the Service.

4.3 Collaboration

When you invite collaborators to a document:

  • You grant them access according to permissions you set
  • Collaborators retain rights to their contributions
  • You remain responsible for managing document access
  • All parties retain the right to export their work

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Create content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights
  • Upload malicious code or harmful content
  • Impersonate others or provide false information
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Create content containing hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
  • Access documents without proper authorization

6. Academic Integrity

You represent that:

  • All created content is your original work or you have permission to use it
  • You have not engaged in plagiarism or research misconduct
  • Co-authors have consented to collaboration
  • The content does not violate any confidentiality agreements

7. Data and Document Management

7.1 Document Storage

  • Documents are stored securely on our servers
  • You can export your documents at any time
  • We maintain backups for service reliability
  • Document history and versions are preserved

7.2 Collaboration Data

  • Real-time editing data is processed to enable collaboration
  • Comment and suggestion data is stored with documents
  • User activity logs are maintained for service functionality

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

  • Continuous, uninterrupted access to the Service
  • That the Service will be error-free
  • The accuracy or reliability of any content
  • Perfect synchronization of collaborative edits

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, work, profits, or reputation
  • Any damages exceeding €100
  • Data loss due to service interruptions

This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Leo Torres from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Content you create or share through the Service

11. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the Service at any time
  • Change these Terms with notice
  • Remove content that violates these Terms
  • Modify collaboration features or document limits

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Shared documents may remain accessible to other collaborators

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Leipzig, Germany.

14. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle your personal data and collaboration information.

15. Intellectual Property

All Service-related intellectual property (excluding user content) belongs to us. You may not use our trademarks or branding without permission.

16. No Professional Advice

Content created in RSM Studio is for academic and informational purposes only. It should not be considered as professional advice.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and RSM Studio regarding the Service.
